WHAT IS SOTA (STATE-OF-THE-ART) DENTAL TIJUANA?
SOTA Dental is a bilingual team of dental specialists in Cancun, Los Algodones, & Tijuana. SOTA Dental is extremely proud to be the most sought after team for Prettau® All-on-4 & Crystal® Ultra procedures in Mexico.
We are the only team offering American manufactured, FDA approved dentures in Mexico. Our team of oral surgeons, periodontists, prosthodontists, & lab technicians embody the absolute highest level of technical skills & professionalism.
While most people travel to us for dental implants, we also have some of the leading general dentists on our team. We accept all nationalities of patients indiscriminately, however, primarily focus on patients traveling from the USA & Canada.
WHAT DOES SOTA DENTAL TIJUANA DO?
We receive 100+ inquiries a month from international patients seeking our implant specialists. Our bilingual, knowledgeable, & incredibly organized secretary coordinates these complex cases directly with our doctors. She also can help with the logistical elements of your trip… all in native English of course!
Not only does SOTA Dental streamline your dental work in Mexico… we truly care about your ongoing health & well being. With bold moral principals, we believe the patient’s long-term health is paramount. We are compassionate towards all potential patients & an open ear regardless of how large or small your case may be.
Also, each clinic in Mexico is guaranteed to be maintaining sterilization standards set forth by the US CDC’s “Infection Prevention Practices”, and the moral standards set forth by the American Dental Association’s “Code of Ethics”.
HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT THAN BOOKING WITH ANOTHER CLINIC?
Not only do you get the most technically proficient dental implant team in Mexico collaborating seamlessly on your case, you can rest assured that a member of our team has “got your back” during your entire trip. From the moment you arrive in Mexico, you have an English speaking point of contact via email, phone, or text. We’ve asked our previous international patients what they’ve liked most about us, and this is #1.
Each case is unique; therefore, each question must be uniquely answered. When you leave Mexico and return home, we are still here for you! We will be checking in on you whether you like it or not…because we care.
Also, each dental specialist at SOTA Dental is continually re-evaluated to ensure they are meeting US sterilization standards and providing outstanding technical services.
HOW DOES THIS BENEFIT THE PATIENT?
We understand that traveling to another country for major dental work can be scary, but having native-level English communication can really bring a sense of ease to the entire process.
When booking through SOTA Dental, you can rest assured that your doctors are safe, professional, & communicate directly in English.

WHY DID WE CREATE SOTA DENTAL TIJUANA?
SOTA Dental was founded in the United States by American patients & professionals with first hand experience abroad seeking verifiable medical & dental treatment outside of the United States. It’s hard to know if your doctor is qualified when traveling aboard for medical work. Dental tourism is a multi-billion dollar industry which can lead to some unusual & sometimes deceptive business practices in countries not held to the legal standards of the US, Canada, Japan, Australia, & Europe.
EXAMPLES OF UNUSUAL & DECEPTIVE PRACTICES ABROAD
- Doctors with exaggerated qualifications
- Forced patient testimonials immediately after procedures
- Discounted treatments in exchanged for positive testimonials
- Call centers employees claiming to be actual doctors
- Treatment plans prescribed by non-doctors
- Unacceptable wait times
- Non-guaranteed work
- Bait-and-switch with low quality dental products
- Being seen by different doctors than advertised
- Unreliable transportation services
- Inability to speak with actual doctors before arriving
- Lower volumes of anesthesia (pain numbing)
- Lower sterilization standards
- Lack of personalized care due to over-booking
- Creating proxy companies to spread out bad reviews
- Photoshop manipulated before/after photos
- Over-worked doctors & assistants
- Low paid doctors due to high–volume turnovers
- Providing unrealistic treatment schedules

UNDERSTAND THE DETAILS
Technology is reshaping the dental field but not all clinics are keeping up. It’s hard to know if a dentist is using the latest technology available to ensure the best possible outcome for his/her patients. It is especially hard when coming from abroad. All doctors working with SOTA Dental are passionate about being at the forefront of technology with microscopes, 3D scanners, lasers, & in-house labs. We specialize in complex cases.
Microscopic dentistry is one of the most exciting technologies advancing dental these days. While all specialties within dental can benefit from the use of microscopes, endodontists are one of the primary beneficiaries of this new technology. Failed root canal treatments are often the result of negligence by undertrained dentists. Small amounts of bacteria are sometimes accidently left within the canal of a tooth during these procedures that leads to future infections & costly retreatments. Properly examining a tooth with a microscope enables detailed surgical precision and higher success rates in our cases.
Overseeing the doctors at SOTA Dental in Mexico is Dr. Gilberto Galvez. He is an internationally renowned endodontist who has a passion for this niche within dentistry (see his popular Instagram page). His advanced microscope training & surgical process is shared and vetted with a collaborative of microscopic dental specialists working together with SOTA Dental. He oversees collaborative cases and evaluates each dentist or specialist quarterly to make sure they are maintaining SOTA Dental standards.
Before being seen by a SOTA Dental specialist, you can speak with your doctor to ensure that you are fully prepared. We have specialists on our team working at several dental clinics throughout Mexico and pride ourselves in having the absolute brightest minds innovating on an international level within their dental field. We guarantee that you will be seen by a dental specialist who is not only skilled, but also passionate about their work.

Using 3D computer scanning & state-of-the-art tools, SOTA Dental’s surgeons have performed hundreds of dental implant surgeries with the highest level of precision. Unlike some other clinics in Mexico, we only use the FDA approved top brands in dental implants such as Straumann, Nobel, & NEODENT.
Timeline for Dental Implants in Tijuana

All-on-4 in Mexico
American-made Dentures in Mexico
Your teeth are only as beautiful as your lab technicians are artistic. SOTA Dental is the only team in Mexico to offer American-made, FDA approved, fixed-hybrid dentures. We are now proud to offer Crystal® Ultra dentures, made in Scottsdale, Arizona. These dentures can be maintained by your local dentist, without the need to return to Mexico.
Traditionally, Mexican clinics work with Mexican labs. We, however, work directly with US denture manufacturers as well to offer FDA approved dentures to our patients. Not only is the quality regulated, but also the price is surprisingly lower.
It may be hard to believe, but because the USA has the largest free market in the world, high-quality dentures are actually priced more competitively than in Mexico. Surgical fees and dental product mark-ups are what raises the total cost of all-on-4’s in America.
Prettau® Zirconia vs Fixed-Hybrid
Zirconia dentures have often been regarded as the highest quality option for patients seeking an all-on-4. Prettau® zirconia dentures are fantastic, but expensive when made in top US labs. They’re a work-of-art requiring 10-12 days to properly make. They look and feel great, however, may not be the best option for some dental tourism patients.
Prettau® zirconia denture repairs are expensive because they are made of 1 solid piece of zirconia. Repairs often need to be done at the lab in which they were made. A patient must travel to or send their entire denture back to Mexico.
Crystal® Ultra dentures are different in that they can be serviced by general dentists is the US. They are the same work-of-art, yet 70% lighter than Prettau® zirconia dentures. We are exploring new technologies in dentures all the time, so ask us about your options.
Remember, SOTA Dental is here for you even after your procedure! If you ever have issues with your denture, we’ll help you find a solution in the US or Mexico.
* Crystal® Ultra available at select SOTA Dental locations
* Extra time required
